This image is from one of the greatest moments i ever had as a nature photographer. While waiting for some nearby puffins to start fighting, i suddenly observed a big bird struggling with something only 50 feet away. I soon realized that it was a Gyrfalcon with a, still alive, Guillemot! My body was partly hidden behind the snow and with very shaking legs, i could see and photograph how the gyrfalcon killed it's prey. After a while, it recognized me and took to the wings with the prey. Hornøya, Finnmark, Norway. Canon EOS 5D III + Canon 500/4 IS USM. 1/1250 @ f6,3, ISO 400. Virtually no cropping.
